Cheryl Yates-Bledsoe

Cheryl is currently a classroom teacher and Gifted Intervention Specialist at Lake Elementary in Hartville, instructing 6th grade ELA.  She earned her MA in Counseling and MAT in Secondary Education from Liberty University.  She also earned her Ed.D. in Curriculum and Instruction Leadership and looks forward to applying her new knowledge to improving education across the state. She enjoys challenging writers to tap into their creativity and think outside the box. Previously, she worked with 6th grade Author's Club encouraging students to write and illustrate their first book. Her love of writing then expanded to coaching and judging Power of the Pen writers.

In her free time, Cheryl enjoys reading, writing and cross-stitching. She currently lives in Louisville with her two daughters, mastiff Flynn (200# of fluff and love) and puppy Kingsley (70# of energy and nips).
